Civil Rights & Title IX

Title IX is a landmark federal civil rights law in the United States that was enacted as part (Title IX) of the Education Amendments of 1972. It prohibits sex-based discrimination in any school or any other education program that receives funding from the federal government. 

It is the policy of Central Point School District that there will be no discrimination or harassment of individuals or groups based on any basis protected by law, including but not limited to, an individual's actual or perceived race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, gender expression, national or ethnic origin, marital status, age, mental or physical disability, pregnancy, familial status, economic status, veteran status, or because of a perceived or actual association with any other persons within these protected classes.

Reporting Sexual Harassment
& Gender-based Discrimination

Any person may report a concern of sexual harassment, gender-based discrimination or related incidents. Students and parents are encouraged to report to any of the following:

  • to the school administrator
  • using the online complaint procedure
  • contacting the District Title IX Coordinator,
  • making a report to SafeOregon. Please note that reports made to the SafeOregon tip line are cross-reported to DHS, Central Point Police and Central Point School District as necessary.
