District Wellness Plan

Central Point School District 6 (CPSD6) is committed to the health and academic success of every student. The District recognizes that good nutrition and physical activity before, during, and after the school day are strongly correlated with positive student outcomes including improved learning, attendance, and behavior.

This policy outlines CPSD6’s approach to creating healthy school environments and opportunities for all students to practice healthy eating and physical activity behaviors throughout the school day.

As a recipient of grant funding from Oregon Farm to School initiatives, District 6 has been able to partner with local farms and organizations to support our local communities by using produce, fruits and meats that are organic, grass fed and made, grown, and produced right here in Oregon.

Our Nutrition Services Department takes pride in our meal quality. We have bakers working at Crater High School and Scenic Middle School to make all our dinner rolls and pan breads for Hanby Middle School and our Elementary Schools. Our bakers also make signature items for their schools. Many of our entree items are scratch made with local ingredients. We also make all of our salad dressings, sauces, and provide a wide variety of fresh vegetables and fruit options daily.
