English Language Proficiency Curriculum & Standards

CPSD6 English Language Proficiency

Students whose primary language is a language other than English will be provided with special assistance until they are able to use English, succeed academically, and overcome barriers that impede their academic success. Central Point School District is dedicated to identifying and providing for the unique needs of English and Multilingual learners across the district. Our goal is to provide educational opportunities to students of all racial, ethnic, and socio-economic groups, to provide informational training to educators, and to provide consistent challenge for all students so that they may achieve academic and personal excellence in a rigorous and relevant learning environment.

Oregon English Learner Report

Oregon English Language Learner Report
The most recent ODE report is for the 2022-2023 School Year.

The Oregon English Language Learner Report is an annual publication required by law (ORS 327.016), which reports on financial information for English language learner programs, the objectives and needs of students eligible for and enrolled in an English language learner program, as well as provides information on the demographics of students in English language learner programs in each school district. In addition, this report provides a tool that makes data on English language learners accessible to researchers, media, students, and parents.

Ultimately, successful literacy education is achieved through a partnership among all stakeholders: teachers, students and their families, school, and the community. The task of the Central Point School District, then, is to foster a thoughtful climate in which all students are valued for their diversity, supported in their literacy development, motivated, and challenged to continue learning throughout their lives.
