Central Point School District #6

School in the Fall

Dear D6 Families-

Central Point School District expects to reopen schools to full-day, five-day, in-person learning this fall. We maintain those expectations today in light of the Oregon Department of Education announcement of the Resiliency Framework for the 2021-2022 school year.  As you might expect, there are always many details to opening school in the fall, and this year those details will include COVID-19 safety measures.  It is encouraging to see many of the previous mandates (such as face covering requirements & cohorting) move to recommendations.  Under the new guidance, general decisions of school health and safety reside with school and district officials.  We will continue to monitor the situation and partner with public health officials to keep families updated as we finalize those details over the summer.  Under our current conditions, we continue to promote the following practices on our D6 campuses for our students and staff:

  • Facial coverings are advised, but no longer required. Students staff, parents, volunteers, and community, regardless of vaccination status, may elect to continue wearing masks but will not be required.
  • Physical distancing is advised, but not required. We will continue to promote physical distancing, maintaining at least 3 feet between students, to the extent possible in our daily activities.
  • Screening of students is not required, but we will continue to screen students, including temperature checks, upon arrival at our campuses for Summer School.
  • Cohorting of students is not required. However, contact tracing will continue in order to monitor possible exposure for students/staff.
  • Frequent handwashing, environmental cleaning/disinfection and air purification will continue to be key practices in D6 buildings.
  • Quarantine and isolation requirements for exposure to Covid-19 will be followed in accordance with Jackson County Health Authority regulations.
