Central Point School District #6

Great News for D6 Families and Staff!

On June 25th, the Oregon Department of Education and Oregon Health Authority released guidance for the upcoming school year. This framework may be utilized for both our summer school sessions and in preparation for the 2021-2022 school year.  These changes will go into effect for D6 schools today, June 30, 2021.

  • Facial coverings are advised, but no longer required. Students, staff, parents, volunteers, and community, regardless of vaccination status, may elect to continue wearing masks but will not be required.
  • Physical distancing is advised, but not required. We will continue to promote physical distancing, maintaining at least 3 feet between students, to the extent possible in our daily activities.
  • Screening of students is not required, but we will continue to screen students, including temperature checks, upon arrival at our campuses for Summer School.
  • Cohorting of students is not required. However, contact tracing will continue in order to monitor possible exposure for students/staff.
  • Frequent handwashing, environmental cleaning/disinfection and air purification will continue to be key practices in D6 buildings.
  • Quarantine and isolation requirements for exposure to Covid-19 will be followed in accordance with Jackson County Health Authority regulations.

Learn more about the guidance here.

With a positive outlook, we will continue to build opportunities for our students and community. Thank you for your support.

Sincerely,

Walt Davenport

Superintendent
