Facial Covering/Mask Update May 19, 2021

The Oregon Department of Education announced on May 19th that facial coverings are no longer required outdoors.  Students staff, parents, volunteers and community, regardless of vaccination status, may participate in outdoor activities during the school day and before or after school without masks or face coverings.

  • Masks/face coverings are not required for any outdoor activity, including recess, PE, athletics and activities.
  • Masks/face coverings are no longer required indoors for individuals who are fully vaccinated AND when students are not present.
  • Masks/face coverings are not required for fully vaccinated individuals (includes athletes, spectators and volunteers) at OSAA indoor sports and activities. Vaccination status will be checked at the door.
  • Masks/face coverings are not required at outdoor events such as graduations, honors nights or other events, but physical distancing and capacity requirements remain.
  • During the school day at school sites mask/face coverings are required for all individuals while indoors.
