Tradition of Service

Tuesday, May 30th, 2017

A local family wrote it and wanted us to spread their words of appreciation to our staff & students who did such a wonderful job at the VA this last week!

Memorial Day, 2017

Dear Scenic Students…

Thank you so much for your flag service. I wanted you to know just what it means to the people who go to the National Cemetery to decorate the graves of their families and loved ones…it is noticed and appreciated.

We have my parents and our son buried there and always go out on Memorial Day weekend to honor them and reflect on what they mean to us. To be there with flags fluttering on each grave and absorbing the peacefulness of that beautiful place is an honor we don’t take lightly.

You are so appreciated for making things even more beautiful at the National Cemetery. I’m guessing your backs get a little tired but we wanted to make sure knew your service was not taken for granted.

Dogs for the Deaf

Thursday, April 6th, 2017

Dogs for the Deaf came to SMS and spoke to our student body about their service dogs and how they help individuals in our community with anxiety, autism or hearing impairment. The Natural Helpers Club along with our student body donated dog toys and dog treats to Dogs for the Deaf. Sixth grade students donated the most toys and treats during the Kindness Week Toys & Treats competition.  They won a free academic lab game period for their donations. We appreciate that Dogs for the Deaf donates their time to train therapy dogs for our community.  If you have a need for a therapy dog, please contact  Michelle Erwin @  Dogs for the Deaf in Medford Oregon  (541)  826-9220 – Address 10175 Wheeler Road, Central Point, Oregon
