REMINDER– March 19th and 20th (previously scheduled for Parent/Teacher Conferences) will be regular instructional days for students.

March 17th, 2014 by Brenda

The board approved a revised district calendar (the “13-14 calendar” link has been updated on our website) to restore part of the instructional time lost due to inclement weather in December.  March 19th and 20th (previously scheduled for Parent/Teacher Conferences) will be regular instructional days for students.  Schools will not be in session on Friday, March 21st–that day is set aside as compensatory time for teachers to conduct “vital” parent conferences between March 10th and April 15th.  The district recognizes both the importance of restoring instructional time and providing some time for Parent/Teacher conferences.  Although teachers will not be able to meet with every parent, parents are always welcome to contact teachers or the principal about their student’s progress.   Also, note that June 10th and/or June 11th have been set aside as “contingency” student contact days should the district be subject to additional closure dates because of weather or other emergency conditions.   Should you have questions or concerns about the revision calendar, please contact your principal or Samantha Steele at samantha.steele@district6.org.

Synergy Parent and Student Vue Error

February 3rd, 2014 by brad.eaton@district6.org

Dear Parents and Students,

We are aware that many students and parents are getting an Error report when attempting to access grades in Parent Vue or Student Vue.  The District 6 tech department is working with Synergy to fix this as soon as possible.  Synergy has told us it may take them to the end of the week to figure out the issue.  In the mean time thank you for your patience and understanding.

Sincerely,

Brad Eaton

Principal

Cross Country Boys team Wins State

November 4th, 2013 by Brenda

Capping off an undefeated season that included a 1st Place in the Southern Oregon Middle School Athletic Conference District Championships last Tuesday, the Scenic Middle School Boy’s Cross Country Team took 1st Place at the Oregon Middle School Cross Country Championships in Portland, OR on Sunday.
On a rainy afternoon in Portland, the Scenic squad led by Derek Tripp and Andy Monroe, supported by Erik Olsen, Jantz Tostenson, Gabe Southmayd, Gage Reed, and Hayden Glatte, battled the best of the best teams in Oregon to claim the State title in the Elite Superchamps Division.  This remarkable undefeated run to the State Title included a meet where the team recorded a perfect score, and 4 hard fought victories over the favored #1 ranked Ashland Boy’s Team.  The comradery, perseverance, training, and drive to be the best paid off  for these outstanding and dedicated student-athletes who represented our community with pride. Another runner of note is 6th Grader Emily Ricks who placed 17th over-all out of one-hundred-and-sixty-eight 6th, 7th, and 8th graders.”
