Welcome to the Scenic Middle School website. Middle school is a particularly challenging and exciting time for parents and  their adolescent children. While your children very much need your support and involvement, they often keep you at arms length as they strive to establish their independence. We want to help you stay informed and involved. This website will be a valuable source of information about activities, opportunities and news at Scenic.

Thank you all for your generosity and participation in the penny drive to raise money for the victims of the earthquake in Haiti.  Our student body and generous neighbors raised $1185.00 to donate to the American Red Cross.  Again, thank you so much for supporting our students in this compassionate endeavor.

PTO News Update

September 25th, 2009 by admin

The brand-new, yellow team benches on the football field were purchased by the PTO through its fundraising efforts last year. The benches were badly needed and sincerely appreciated by Scenic coaches, players and staff.

PTO members have kicked off this year’s fundraising events by opening the concession stand during home games this fall. They are off to a good start and are sure sales will be even better when word spreads that they are there and have good snacks and beverages for reasonable prices. You don’t have to join the PTO to help with concessions, just email lryerson@charter.net or sheila.henson@district6.org to sign up for a shift in the concession stand. All are welcome and encouraged to participate!!

The next PTO meeting is October 8 at 6:00 p.m. in the Scenic Library. The group is enthusiastic and energetic and would welcome all interested parents. See you there!!

Welcome Scenic Families

September 11th, 2009 by admin

Welcome to the 2009-2010 school year.  What an exciting and interesting year!!  The four-day week presents both challenge and opportunity for all.  I have been very impressed as I watch our teachers discuss and prepare for this year’s lessons and activities.  This is a professional and dedicated staff and they are determined to continue to provide a quality education and positive environment for your children.

Our music teacher, John Foster, has a handout for students who are interested in any music activity at Scenic.  Please talk with your child and if he or she is interested in band, choir, guitar or jazz band, have him or her get a flyer from Mr. Foster.

Please watch our website for information on activities and events at Scenic, information from the counselor and other items of interest.  Thank you all for your continued support and help; working together we can make this a successful and productive year for all.
