Parking Notification

November 10th, 2016 by tammera.mullings@district6.org

November 9, 2016

Parking Notification:  You may have noticed there are new updated signs posting “NO Parking NO Stopping” on West Pine Street on the shoulder.  It has never been legal to park there, and we have had some “near-misses” as students and parents try to walk around cars parked on the shoulder. District 6, along with the City of Central Point, has determined that enforcing the No Parking law will help keep our students and families safe.  Parking in this zone could result in a citation.

Last year MRE and District 6, working with the City of Central Point, expanded our parent parking lot to help with the number of parents wishing to drop off and pick up their children.  This has helped alleviate congestion. While not perfect, it is a vast improvement.  Please use the parent lot off Haskell Street when you wish to park.

I know you all want to help keep each one of our students safe. Eliminating this dangerous hazard will make sure the unimaginable doesn’t happen.

Thank you for your support,
Mrs. Scott
