Roars from Mr. Rambo
I hope you all had a wonderful Winter Break and enjoyed some quality time with your families. The weather gave us all a few extra days of vacation. The district will be evaluating how to best make up those lost days. Instructional time is very important and we will do our best to come up with a solution that prioritizes quality instructional time for our students. I will update you on our plan as soon as it becomes available to me.
January is an important academic time for our students. Teachers will be focusing on core instruction and placing rigorous academic demands on students. It will be vital to re-establish the homework and school routines that you had before the break. Parents need to spend time on a regular basis talking with their students about school work and upcoming assignments. Parents should also be checking over all homework assignments in order to have an understanding about the progress their student is making.
3rd, 4th and 5th grade students will be taking part in statewide standardized assessments this spring. Teachers will be informing students of when those tests will take place for each classroom. If you have questions about these assessments, please contact the classroom teacher or the main office. If you would like information about opting your student out of these assessments, please visit our website at www.district6.org/jes/
