A Message from Mr. Rambo

I would like to give a special thanks to the Jewett PTO and all who helped with the See’s Candy sale.  We are blessed with a very supportive community.  This tremendous support results in our students having educational opportunities that they otherwise would not.

Early spring is an important academic time of the school year.  Our teachers are working hard to prepare the 3rd-5th grade students for the new state assessment that will be administered in April and May.  Please stay involved in your student’s academic work and make sure to check over their homework.  There will be more information coming out in regards to the new assessment next month.

Please continue to make sure your student has a quiet homework space, gets plenty of rest and attends school every day.

Mr. Rambo

 **Important Recall Update**

Parents / Guardians,

See’s candy has just informed us of a recall pertaining to some of the items sold during our most recent fundraiser.  The recall is for the 8oz. Classic Red Heart with Assorted Chocolates with the bar code 737666091201 and the stamped date L.A.N. 048/15.  These chocolates may have undeclared “tree nuts” in them and may pose a serious health risk to people with nut allergies.

Please see our website or face book page for the information that Sees’s Candy Company provided us.  http://www.district6.org/jes/ or https://www.facebook.com/JESCPSD6

We will rely on you to pass this information out to those people who purchased this specific product.  You can find out who ordered that product by looking on the order form that was returned to your student with the candy.

Thank you for your prompt attention to this matter.

If you have further questions please contact the main office at 541 494-6600.

What’s New!!

NEW SPANISH PHONE LINE

Jewett  Elementary has a new Spanish Phone Line!  If you are needing to communicate with someone in Spanish, please call 541-494-6608.  Here you will be able to leave a message and someone will return your call as soon as possible.  Please do not leave any going home changes.  Those calls will still need to be made to the office at 541-494-6607.

AUTOMATED ATTENDANCE CALLING SYSTEM

On December 1st, we will implement a new automated attendance calling system.  As per state law, we are required to notify the parent/guardian of a student who is marked absent.  These calls will only be made to parents who have not notified the school of a student’s absence by 8:30 am.  This new system does not excuse parents from communicating with the school when their student is absent.  We appreciate your support in helping us ensure all of our students are safe.
