Message From Mr. Rambo
I would like to welcome returning students/families back for another exciting year at Jewett Elementary. I would also like to extend a special welcome to our new kinder students and their families. We have a special community made up of students, staff, parents and volunteers who strive every day to make this an engaging and supportive educational environment for your students.
As a staff we are very proud of the academic gains made last year. Our students showed dramatic growth on state testing due in large part to great instruction and home support. We will continue the upward trend this year as we officially transition to a new state assessment.
We are equally proud of the positive school culture that we have created based on our “Power of Positive” theory of action. Through “Power of Positive,” we help students understand that they have control over how they deal with difficult situations. This ranges from helping new students to standing up for someone who needs help. Students have bought into the belief that a positive attitude can impact others and improve their situation.
We will be introducing a new district program on campus this year. The Two Way Spanish Immersion program will begin with a kindergarten and first grade class. The teachers have attended over two weeks of specialized training this summer and are excited to get the year started.
I know this year will have successes and challenges. I encourage you to stay in communication with teachers and myself if you have any questions or concerns.
Looking forward to a great school year,
