Roars from Mr. Rambo

Parents and Guardians,
I hope you all had a great Thanksgiving break and that students are ready to go for the month of December. Below I have listed a few things you can do to make sure that students have a suc-cessful month before winter break.

Be sure to review the information that was covered at parent/teacher conferences. If there were suggestions from the teacher in regards to academic or behavioral issues that need special attention, be sure that you implement changes right away. It will be helpful to start building those improved habits right when students get back into class.

Regular attendance is crucial for student success. Research clearly shows that stu-dents who are at school on time every day demonstrate significantly higher achieve-ment. Even if a student is only 10 minutes late to class, they will miss important infor-mation for the day.

Help your students maintain a healthy balance during the holiday season. December is an exciting month with the holidays, family celebrations and school events. Families play an important role in keeping students focused on school work and academic projects as we approach winter break. Students can easily become overwhelmed with all of the extra events and activities and need the routines at home and at school to help them be academically successful.

Thank you for all of your support and dedication—you are a big part of what makes Jewett a special place for our students.
