A Message from Mr. Rambo

Welcome Back!

I hope you all had a wonderful Winter Break and enjoyed some quality time with your families.  January is an important academic time for our students.  Teachers will be focusing on core instruction and placing rigorous academic demands on students.  Please talk with your students nightly about what they are doing in class and checking over any homework they may have.

Jewett will be hosting the school board meeting on Tuesday, January 13th, at 6:30pm.  We will be presenting some of our school assessment data from last year and  will also have a student presentation from the kindergarten and 1st grade Two Way Spanish Immersion Programs.  I encourage all interested parents to attend.

Mr. Rambo

Volunteer Application Information

All adults who would like to volunteer in a classroom or chaperone a field trip must have a District 6 volunteer application turned in and approved prior to helping with students.  All applications must be turned in at least one week prior to the event, as it takes a week to get the application processed.

What’s New!!

New State Testing:  Smarter Balanced

1.  Assess our 3rd, 4th and 5th graders in Math and Literacy as aligned with the newly adopted Common Core State Standards.

2.  Testing will take place in April and May.

3.  For sample questions go to:

On December 1st, we will implement a new automated attendance calling system.  As per state law, we are required to notify the parent/guardian of a student who is marked absent.  These calls will only be made to parents who have not notified the school of a student’s absence by 8:30 am.  This new system does not excuse parents from communicating with the school when their student is absent.  We appreciate your support in helping us ensure all of our students are safe.
