Mortenson’s experience with Haji Ali is in many ways an excellent summary of what it takes to be a good manager in any setting but especially in international business. Complete the following keeping this thought in mind.

3. After you have posted your answers to questions 1 & 2, read through other students comments and choose one to post a response back. So – thoughts, ideas, vision and action welcome….OK Let’s Go!
We would like to know what you thought of exhibition night. What were you most proud of? What went well? what could we do better? What about the set-up? Is that night a good night?
Your opinion is valued – we would like to know how we can continue to showcase the “Best of the Best.” (That would be you all BTW)
On Thursday, November 17 from ~5:00 to 8:00 the Crater School of Business, Innovation and Science will be hosting parents, students and community members in our 3rd Annual Exhibition Showcase and we need your input to make it happen.
What can we do to make the night worthwhile?
Our goal is to make it more than one of those dorky back to school nights? Think in terms of how can we build on the momentum from exhibition night last year (which was pretty solid), and three consecutive excellent homecoming weeks?
How can we show that the BIS is the IS! (and that you truly are the bomb with all that you can and do —do.)? Last year CSB students showcased their portfolios – what should we demonstrate this year?
- First, you need to answer the following on the blog site before you add any other comments – What two things are you most proud of from what you have created this year?
Then address the following regarding making the actual night better.
- Is it serving food or having treats?
- Should we be giving out “SCHWAG” to attending students who bring their families and present? If so, what should we give out?
- What about offering up some sort of pay back to students for a job well done (BBQ cooked by the teachers – maybe a longer lunch after Thanksgiving break – ec)?
- Should we require students to be here?
- What should we present, from the overall standpoint from CSB (what should we emphasize as a class)
- Should we make exhibition posters?
- Should we invite community members in?
- What else???????
Comment, suggest, advise, describe
An incredibly busy week just passed and we are very interested in your thoughts, feelings, comments, observations and ideas going forward. From Spirit and Activity days to He-man and Powder Puff — Tshirts and TTowels to the Homecoming Game and Dance – what do you say? Always remember that almost anything is possible… Let’s look back and let’s get rolling forward.
Hello Boys and Girls of the BIS Community! Once again we turn to you to lead Crater onto an incredible, exciting and memorable homecoming.
We play GP – we want to “Cage the Cavemen” and “Unleash the Comet”
We are bringing back He-man and are interested in doing things like having a “White Out” – Terrible Towels – Spirit shirts – a fantastic float and tons of student participation.
What do you think? What should we do?
We need specifics – so, if you have an idea for the towel – let us know. Float… T shirt…He-man…PPuff…ideas my friends – IDEAS.
So in your post, make it known what you are talking about. For example :
FLOAT – I think it would be super awesome if our float was like a big giant mousetrap (you know, like the board game) only instead of dropping a cage on a mouse, we drop a cage on a caveman! We could make it so the cage drops on the caveman like a Rube Goldberg creation! Check out this video to see my train of thought – http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qybUFnY7Y8w
In that you have researched Wikileaks through the 5W and Debatable Issues assignment and taken our survey we feel it is important that you now are able to express yourself (electronically).
Rasmussenreports.com states that most voters believe public release of U.S. secret and confidential documents hurts national security, and they consider the leaking of such information to be an act of treason (51%). A new Rasmussen Reports national telephone survey finds that 72% of Likely Voters say that when media outlets release secret government documents, they are hurting national security rather than providing a public service. Only 14% believe the opposite is true and that the media is serving the public. Just as many (14%) are not sure (12.2.2010)
In looking at our data from the survey you can see we are a microcosm of society – whether we mirrored the nation remains to be seen. Today’s blog will be an outlet for you to (1) Voice your opinion (2) Comment and question others opinions . Please do so in an appropriate manner (spelling, comment first with expert backup, choose your words wisely, etc).
